Community Engagement and Performances

The Lompoc Pops Orchestra, founded in 1996, is an ensemble of approximately 45 musicians based in Lompoc, California. Under the baton of Artistic Director and Conductor Brian Asher Alhadeff, the orchestra performs four concerts annually, showcasing a diverse repertoire that includes musicals, Broadway hits, jazz, big band, gospel, and patriotic music . Their mission is to promote the love of music through a permanent, professional orchestra, performing classical and pops concerts .

In their 27th season (2024–2025), themed “Time Travel with the Pops,” the orchestra continues to engage audiences with innovative programming . A recent concert, “The Symphonic 60s and 70s,” featured visiting vocalist Wendy Laurier paying tribute to Karen Carpenter and Linda Ronstadt, along with Beatles and Beach Boys medleys . Performances are held at the First United Methodist Church in Lompoc, offering an accessible and family-friendly musical experience for the community.
